What Should I Talk About? | The C List, Ep. 4
Being on camera isn’t easy. Figuring out what to say on camera can cause serious anxiety. People often ask, “what should I say?” Here are some tips to help you find your voice.
Try to think of the camera as a customer who just walked into your store. Talk to the camera like you’re talking to a customer. Tell them a little about yourself, your products, your services, or your events.
Consider your core customer base. What do they like? How old are they? What do they need? What do they enjoy? Once you answer these questions, you can craft your talking points in a way that caters to them.
Video content puts a face with a business name, and customers want to know who you are. It’s a good idea to embrace yourself as the face of the company.
Putting these ideas together may take some time. It’s a good idea to write a script and organize your thoughts but try not to read directly from the script when you’re on camera. Be personable and friendly, and remember that if your business is open, you’ve already succeeded. Think of the steps you took to get to where you are now, and we’re confident you’ll know exactly what to talk about on camera.
